This is a place where I put my Shadow of the Colossus content.
The bosses of Shadow of the Colossus seem to fit into groups that look alike. For example, the first colossus is very similair to the 6th and 15th.
In short, it appears that they took lots of inspiration from real-life animals. Some cancelled colossi, such as the wolf Sirius near stonehenge, the other lizard/newt called Yamori A, and many more.
Cenobia is my favorite colossus. For good reason, too. When I first got the game, I thought that Avion (5th colossus) would be my favorite, but no. Avion was rage. Avion was frustrating for me because of how low my grip bar was. I hadn't quite gotten used to its cycle of flapping its wings and not, so I couldn't stop to regenerate stamina. Now, Cenobia. Cenobia triggered my primitave fear of predators. Cenobia was like a saber tooth tiger. (Image credit Nomad Colossus)
I was terrified of getting hit by this colossus. In fact, I never got hit by this colossus. I like the idea of the falling platforms. The fact that you must climb them and then jump to another one that wasn't accessable before the first one fell. This colossus also had an angry expression, which made me feel less guilty about killing it, unlike the 7th or 8th colossus.
Cenobia has a beautiful arena. It looks like a ceremonial religious location, hidden away by mountains. It is shown that sacrafices were made in other Team ICO games, so it's not so unreasonable to say that this place was used for rituals of some kind. Perhaps the water ducts in the ground were used for farming. There's so much beauty in Fumito Ueda's work.
In the Bluepoint Games remake of Shadow of the Colossus, four goats are littered around the forbidden lands. They don't seem to serve any purpose, besides to be intriguing. I don't think that they are meant to do/lead to anything, but they're a fun secret. So far, only four goats have been found. Either way, the goats are really interesting, working as a cool piece of secret hunter candy.
